A space for curious minds
When I was in primary school I asked my teacher, ‘What do blind people see?’. She told me repeatedly that blind people did not see at all, but this wasn’t my question. I wanted to understand their lived experience better – did they experience flashes of light? Complete darkness? Gradients of colour if they were low-vision as opposed to blind? Being too young to find the words, we ended the debate with the teacher being right and me knowing little more about what blind people ‘see’. This sense of childlike curiosity is what this space is all about.
Personal musings & reflections
As an introvert, I’m easily lost in thought. What I’ve learnt over time is that some of them are worth sharing. In here, you’ll find a range of diary-like posts where I let my thoughts run wild. It started on a a whim and I didn’t much care how long I kept it up. It was more about experimenting with my self-awareness than it…Read More
On being present: what is mindfulness really?
adjective: zen peaceful and calm. “she is kind and relaxed with a very zen energy about her” We could use many words to describe 2020 – chaotic, unpredictable or the fan-favourite unprecedented. I highly doubt many of us would choose words relating to peace, calm or zen. And yet, in the midst of all the…Read More

Let’s be real for a minute. This year has been beyond hard. We couldn’t see it coming, we don’t know where it’s going and many of us are still coming to terms with COVID-normal. When we’re going through hard times, a positive mindset can be very useful. It can remind us to be grateful and…Read More
You have permission to quit
At so many points in our lives we are asked to make choices. Choose a career, choose a life partner, choose where to live, what to do and who to surround yourself with. At very few points in our lives do we take the time to reconsider. Each choice is final, each decision locking us…Read More

It’s been a while. Close to a year. So, where have I been? The simple answer is – I fell out of love with writing. The complex answer involves creative burnout and the two types of writing.
